Thread regarding Follett layoffs

CM

What is going on? First we had limited returns, and now we change course and send as much as possible back to ADC. I'm happy about it. But what is going on with these people? What about all that obsolete inventory at ADC?

If nothing else, we get to read more poorly-written directives from HO that are riddled with grammatical mistakes.

So if you are so happy that you left this company why are you still posting here? Make a clean break to get rid of all your anger issues towards this company.

Yes, Follett is no longer a respected and prosperous business. The reasons for which are numerous. The bottom line here is this. If you are as F@#'n miserable as you state working for this company, then leave! Go make your own way in the world and quite whining and complaining about what someone else has done to you to make you life as pathetic as it obviously is. Most of the individuals commenting on this site are no better than the Millennial snowflakes that scream foul when anything does not go their way. I left this SH&Hole company years ago when I saw the writing on the wall. The only thing worse than a failing company is the delusional fools that stay on the sinking, stinking ship!

I am just happy to have the old inventory out of my store & off my books. Even have some shelf space now, but still a have 4 boxes full of old editions just sitting.

You obviously don't have any knowledge, much less inside knowledge. And if you don't have knowledge your guess is far from educated. The drag on the Corporation is incompetent Corporate management. They are the ones that need to be fired. Either know what you are talking about or shut up before you suggest firing good employees that worked years making the Folletts and these Corporate hacks millions.

Any other opinions or inside information for this 180?

The hemorrhaging will continue well into the next year. The company would do well to correct the underlying cause of all of those dead books at the ADC, and conduct the purge! We must stop buying OE texts back with a wholesale value. Rental must end on titles that are about to expire. Dump the liability on the end user, not the company. For god sake why does research assign wholesale values to Custom Titles that are unique to an account? Yes, It is a common occurrence.

The Blue Book used to be a respected resource, as was FCR. Never, Never, make the mistake of referring to the ADC as FCR. It's insulting to the memory of a well run organisation.

That’s half correct, this year is a write-off for wholesale so they’re making it look as bad as possible so next year has a cleaner start.

Send all our bad inventory to adc, then unload that part of the business. It hasn't made money in years and has been nothing but a drag on the rest of the corporation. No inside knowledge here, just an educated guess from the field.
