Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Anybody actually thinks it'll get better after these layoffs?

I understand that people can't wait for this to be finally over. Waiting for as long as we have without knowing when and who is exhausting mentally and emotionally.

But do you really believe it will be any different once this round is over? That we will magically have our job security back and be able to properly relax?

Humana is on a downward spiral and it will continue to go that way until it's ran into the ground. There's no turning back now.

The best thing for all of us is to start looking for a new position, whether we stay or are laid off. That's actually the only thing to do to stay sane.

HCM-RN waiting for layoff, wouldn’t want to be one of the ones sticking around as it’ll probably go back to the 10 a day mentality. Humana will survive, will re-org, and the upper level management will continue to double their million dollar salaries.

I truly believe that Humana needs to be under new management. Very few members are happy with Humana. Providers are dropping like flies. Humana has a very poor reputation and unless something happens to turn things around, enrollment will continue to drop. There are members who remained with Humana because of services they received via a PHC. Now, members have been thrown around so much, Humana has become a joke (not to all members but many).

I agree that things do not look positive for Humana. This will be a continuing threat and it is unrealistic to think that our roles will improve. Good luck everyone.

We have been waiting for over a year for things to get better and now they are closing us down (LH). I wouldn't say Humana is in a downward spiral, we are just a small part of a huge company but it's clear we are no longer the darlings of BB's world. I do wonder if the hype being spun during the merger talks was real and if so what happened? If it wasn't AETNA must be aware the dodged an expensive bullet.

HCM RN......I agree. I think things will get worse. I am actively looking. There is no job security. All this instability has me on edge. Best of luck to everyone. I hope we find out today because I am ready to move on either way.

No it will get worse. They are going to drop MOC and then will come around in April and do another round of layoffs. They are increasing MET call audits and the micromanagement will be at a whole new level.
