Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

What if I don't get laid off (HCM-RN)?

First of all, PHCs I feel awful for you. I wish that you all find new employment that is rewarding with better employers.

And, I am tired of this merry go round and I am ready to get off. I am looking forward to early release, severance pay and the PTO pay out to support me while I find something better. But, I am assuming that based on my roster size and years of service, that I will be included in this RIF. But, what if I don't get the email?

I am prepared to move on and I have a job search plan in place. I have no plan for how to cope if I have to lose members of my team, again. I hate the ackward elephant in the room after the layoff is announced and those impacted say their goodbyes, or not. I have no desire to continue to work for this callous company.

I am a HCM RN and I realize OP post was insensitive. This is something that is happening to RN and HCM SS now, not just one section of HAH, Live Healthy. I am sure we all are "thinking" the same as OP but did not actually post it. I can only pray that each PHC can find something out there to support your families. I have to agree that the RNs will have an easier time finding a job. Best wishes.

Sorry to sound so crass but s--- it up buttercup! For the past year PHCs and CHEs have seen their teams decimated. With each new layoff we lived in constant fear we were next. Now the PHCs know we have to say goodbye again and there is no questioning and no fear of who will get cut...We all will. It was no big deal when it was a role different than yours that was being cut. If you hate it so much and fear being left then quit. You and you alone are responsible for your happiness. Don't give me the BS that it's harder for the nurses to find jobs. BS! I am friends with several HCMs who were older but quit and found jobs they love. All were back to work in less than a month. I also have a PHC friend who remains unemployed since round 1. The job market for her skills is flooded and is about to be flooded to all new levels. So quit your damn whining. If you are unhappy, do something about it. This whole time you could have been searching for jobs rather than putting a plan in place to search. But no, I'm sure you see dollar signs with the promise of severance. A little paid vacation for you. Your happiness is on your shoulders not the company! You decide if the money is worth it or not but don't you dare come on here and complain that you might still have a job! How self centered can you be?

I’m also a PHC and I’m not bothered by the post. Everyone is different and reacts their own way. I feel for those trying to figure out “what’s next” whether they are RIF’d or not.

This is an inconsiderate post. Over 300PHC's are not in your position, don't even have a chance at keeping a job that they enjoy and pays well. Most PHC's don't have your options for alternative jobs. Maybe you could wait until the ink is dry on our RIF note before you start complaining about not being laid off.
