Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Any Sears associate out there do 991s?

What is your stores policy in the following..mainly appliances

  1. How often are they done

  2. What if price drops below cost

  3. What is done with item when it goes to zero- do you add back into system

  4. What do you do with final list of items that were not updated

  5. Do you write info on Closeout paper then tape to item along with the item# and the plus 4 digits

  6. Do you always use 2 syncs

This is such a tedious task I can’t see how having everyone in store doing this will end up not creating a real mess and loosing money selling stuff way below cost because a person new to doing this did not change the price back to at least $50 above cost

So I can see Simple Store turning this task into a complete mess if everyone has their hands in it because some people just don’t care about the job they do

991s should still stay with 1-2 people doing them

any idea why searsoutlet.com no longer lists 991 items from full line stores? I won't let you pick full line store any longer either. I understand is is a different company, but it was a different company for a few years, but 991 items ($.93) were listed, but not any longer.

I loved 991 items. too bad sears is history. 991 is history. oh well

@ inkc - are you sure the 25 in each division is for OUt if Stock and not the price integrity task? I can’t even remember when that was last done by anyone

In tools alone if I only had to find 25 items it would be a sinch.

I usually have to transmit 2-3 lists making them short in order for the printer to print the entire list

I do Out if Stocks in div 6-9-71-34

On the report it it has 6-9-71-41-96

I was using the in stock report (in shc) as a guide to how many OOS items there are

I can’t see too many people really enjoying this report whuch I do

But it’s tedious and tools alone takes awhile

I remember a couple of years back there were more divisions but tools by far takes the longest

I do 991s also and I print the report but have a problem when doing that. I can only get it to print 1 page of a 2 page report even if I change change the percentage

I like doing 991s my biggest problem with the 991s is finding a well charged battery to make the printer work so the closeout ticket is nice and crisp so if we sell one the package pick up guys are able to scan the bar code and for me to be able to scan each week instead of manually entering each and every item

I hope with all these changes coming that I keep being the only one to do the 991s as just letting anyone do them could really mess stuff up because a lot of people just don’t care for tedious work

I’ve been doing 991s for about a year and I like it because it’s intense

I don’t think too many in my store like doing them

Regarding the number of items you need to scan to get credit for OOS, the number is 25 items per department as per our Regional Vice President. Regarding 991's, why use a binder? I've never seen a Sears store that does. The DM and Regional Vice President can pull up the report anytime they want to on their computer and can print out the report for audit purposes and can also tell if you are actually doing your 991's also as per our Regional Vice President. I have been doing OOS's and 991's for over 12 years and yes it can be tedious.

They are done and updated weekly usually every Tuesday. Sometimes when you scan it will drop way below cost but you bring the price back up to cost plus 10% never lower than that. When you update it the ticket comes out of the printer you have to write nothing on the ticket. The only thing you write on is your report when you work it and you write the four digit number next to the item and put in a binder so when you get audited you can show the binder to prove your working the report.

Pebble...I ask 3 years ago what was the number of OOS you had to get in each division in order to get the credit in the OOS report.. nobody could answer that question!

Not until a year ago it came to light that you wd have to get 1/2 the number listed on the in stock report

I used that report as a guide but lately can’t even bring that report up.. what’s up with that I wonder

I know... ask pebble. Lol

Sounds like a question for Pebble. I am sure many others are wondering the same about various procedures but were afraid to ask on a legitimate company platform.
