Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Walmart taking over Nabisco ordering

I had a Walmart manager tell me they were taking over Nabisco ordering soon. said he could get fired for just telling me that, but I've known him for years and he wanted me to know. Because I work for Mondelez ( Nabisco ) he said some stores will start getting orders as early as middle of February and by middle of April all stores will be ordering their own product. it's pretty sad our company will not tell us this, we have to hear it from someone else, and all they do is deny deny deny! Right up until the part when they tell us we no longer have a job! and they expect us to be loyal! What a joke!

If anything happens, it will be last minute and without notice. When Kraft bought out Nabisco, they fired their employees with only a one week notice. Kraft is still embedded in Mondelez/Nabisco, so when and if they do fired us it will be at the very last minute so we can't jump ship. Thats just the way they operate.

Its going to eventually happen. We can't DSD can't survive with all this competition. We got stores taking our product directly to their warehouses, and illuminating the workers (US). Make no mistake, Nabisco is currently doing this. Keebler, and Nestle has sit the tone, and all these big companies are listening! We are all working on borrowed time. Keep you resume updated because you might need it sooner than later

Smart people know that DSD will be ending. Timeline is a moving target. My prediction is September.

If you think that we're all keeping our jobs and DSD is here to stay you better educate yourself.

Walmart and Kroger are going CAO. No way DSD survives! Other's may have been a little premature on their predictions but they're not very far off.

September 2018 is when when we are done.

If you read past post, everyone should have been out of a job already. Just goes to show no one knows anything.

CAO may not be driving us away but steadily declining sale and profits are. N.A. loses money while the emerging markets make money. How long do you think they will let that go on? Besides, it's been part of the restructuring plan. We are set up for regional warehouse distribution now. Sales will drop even more with CAO. No more stuffing the back rooms full of crap no one wants.

Believe what you want cheerleader! Educated folks know better! You'll soon find out! It will be coming in waves. That way 60 day's notice won't be necessary. South will be 1st. They've been on CAO for a few month's now.

Thats right, we're not going anywhere. The new model is to use all the lost revenue in N.A. as a tax right off. Huge savings on the taxes.

Sounds like they're starting to fill the grocery warehouses then! Our branch has been out of generic hutches for about a month.

Better hit send before it's too late!!

When is this happening? My Walmart acts like they know nothing about this

That's the point! We went pack 6 on flavored cracker skus. They can order and all go up. Kroger demanded it! Same with toasted chips. Funny thing, keeblers went pack 6 on many items just before they left DSD. Need more evidence? They can order a case every night in warehouse and never run out!

Lost space at Walmart also! These new sets are setup for warehouse ordering. Mostly 1 facing on flavors. If we stay in DSD, out of stocks will be abundant

last I heard was sometime in April and we are suppose to have a conference call at some point this month. Going to be a bad month with these huge numbers and this fast start most will miss.

When is Walmart taking over? Aren't we tweaking orders and still merchandising?

That's how they are spinning it to us😜

Computer assisted ordering and now vendors being forced to cap there product is going to limit the amount of backstock in stores and force DSD companies to make more deliveries if they want to maintain displays unlike the way warehouse items are handled when featured. In some markets Kelloggs actually has more coverage now than when they were DSD. Just ask a Nabisco rep. I did.

The grocery business is changing and if you don’t win in Walmart you aren’t going to win.

Walmart is going to force companies to go warehouse if they want to continue to show long term growth. The loss in initial sales will be there but the cost of DSD is where the probability is at. One thing to remember as well is that Kellogg’s already had the infrastructure in place from the cereal business to flow their snack business into whereas other DSD companies will have to start from scratch.

We will never go warehouse. Store's can't handle our volume. A lot of SKU'S

Wrong! It's not rumors being spread by Keebler, at this point what would they have to gain? Keebler is benefitting greatly from exiting DSD if you have not noticed from their numbers. Some stores struggle with fill rates but overall Keebler hit at 125% Q4. Mondelez finished down. In the end it won't be Dirk's decision, stores will make it for him!

If you really want to know just research what the Wall Street analysts are saying. I've seen a number of comments about it. Dirk says it can be a drag on the bottom line as do most analysts.

We're just going CAO. We'll still merchandise deliver and tweek orders

The CAO at Walmart will not effect us one bit. We will still be able to write our own order and tweak the computer generated one as we see fit. Our merchandisers will still Service the stores normally and the product will be coming in on our trucks not Walmarts.

Frito is on CAO and they're still delivering and merchandising. We'll be fine. We're not going away anytime soon.

Makes perfect sense! WM will order, come on our truck, we will merchandise, and this will save on everyone's bottom line!

Wrong! If you believe this you need to think a little more! Remember that WM went warehouse with Keebler first, reps and merchandisers still called on WM for a short period of time, Kroger followed soon after. People may have the timeline wrong but the story is right!! Won't be too long.

Ok listen up any elves out there!; there is no way Kellogg is coming back! If you read the IBT agreement carefully, then you know that they have to offer those jobs back to the people who lost them, I think it was within 5 years. I'm pissed too, I was there for over 35 years, but Kellogg would rather eat rat sh--, than ever admit they screwed up. Oh and those 4th quarter numbers were up because their cereal sales were FINALLY up!! The cookies and crackers were in the sh-- house! LMAO! Have you been looking at the facings at all, and the lack of product on the shelves????? The proof is everywhere......they efd up! Besides would you even trust these bastards who threw you to the curb? No for me and my house!

We're just going CAO. We'll still be ordering ,merchandising and driver's will still be delivering. Walmart can't handle our volume. They can barely take care of the elves and their own products. Nothing to worry about. Other vendors are already on CAO

I agree! Why would we still be hiring ft employees. We're not going anywhere this year. One team one dream rallies bought them more time. I believe that DSD will go away but not this year. Elves starting rumors. My manager said that we're committed to DSD. New president came from Coca-Cola. They value DSD. New CEO Dirk Van Der Put is behind DSD he said.

We are not leaving DSD. Where is the proof or evidence that we are going out this year? They would have said something by now to give us all in advance notice. We are still hiring full time employees....

Why would they do this if we were exiting DSD this year.
