Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Membership and marketing

With all these changes in membership, will there even be a marketing lead or coordinator? Is Sams still going to do drives? Will it go to part-time?

I have never worked for such a money hungry company. Sam Walton would be a very sad man to know how his company has and is treating the associates.

Hope they get rid of the membership TL from my club since she doesn't know S!!!!. Not even to load up a gift card,do online return or in club return any promo we have going on , doesn't know how to do reports before they took off the report she would have us associates do her job.. Hurting for business during business blitz she would have associates doing any business who would come in club to sign up as sold in field or she would tell that person who would want to sign up that they can make up a business name and on top of that she would tell them they cause get 3 cards and split it up into 3 person 15 for the primary,15 for household, and 15 for the company card.

The company will find a way to cater to the member so that effects of change from $45 to $100 are limited. For instance, since already a member you get a, b, and c.

Marketing, PTC, and day time receiving will be toast next.

From my understanding Marketing TL is in the clear for another year. Probably less since they have made a huge push with digital partners. But for the record since I seen it posted that we'll have no more company cards is silly. We will still have business accounts, company cards, and add-ons (even for personal accounts)... The only difference will be that instead of putting in a "business card" to print on it will just be "club" or "plus" membership cards.

They don't check cards because they want the sale. It is our job to upsell the plus. It still does have good benefits. It's all about qualifying them for the plus. Not rocket science. 'Oh I see you're buying $700 worth of stuff and not a plus member.'

Business members who pay 45 can still shop. We do not check cards at the door anymore. We were told we will not turn sales away period. So if you still want to shop you can. Sams is running a scam on members making them think everyone is a 100 member.

Business Blitz? I can't wait to tell our business members that at their next renewal they will have to pay $100.00 instead of $45.00 to shop early. And, there will be no more company cards. Can't wait!

Digital interface and digital online marketing is the Zzfuture. Using applications such as Facebook and other apps produce more customer based and companies such as Sam’s can use these applications to build a demographic based on users of applications to build a stronger online base customer or in this case member. The day of door to door sales person is an obsolete career. Business blitz will be less profitable for the company if you can market to consumers online. Marketing at Club level is an operation that doesn’t make sense in this new era of online consumers. If I can see this I am sure someone at the corporate level should already being focused on this business transition into digital and ahead in the new innovation of sales for members online and obtaining business through a digital online marketing strategy.

Seriously , come on . I hate to be the bearer of bad news but do you really think there going to keep marketing .... come on . The company is going e-commerce and fresh . Sams advertisements are all over the home improvement channels . Your dept is no longer important just like Audit. We will all go .... one by one ... it’s the fight for the top . Hsn and qvc just merged to keep up with Amazon .... they are all trying to survive
