Membership Scam

Sams club charging $100 for plus members! This is supposed to be one of the perks for plus members. Reality we don’t check cards and we’re told to let everyone in. How we gonna lie to members to get their $100 and still let $45 members in. Just wondering if this could be a class action lawsuit for bait and switch.

I myself cant seem to figure out why in the world we have just not decided to have a flat rate 100 membership...that would almost eliminate the member- champ no more begging the member at the register this place is getting harder by the minute to work for....so greedy and dirty to say the least and oh our incentive for working for the company for how ever many years just close a few clubs here and there eliminate jobs and make it virtually impossible to get your whole bonus...I call bs you know what's happening months before, then play dumb like its all new bull crap, this co. is going down the tubes because of greedy high ups nothing like it use to be we are only a #

Got my Costco membership a few months ago. Best decision ever. Plus their brand I’m finding out is better.

I personally think we are going to have upset Business Members. Not all of them want the plus membership. 1/2 of the members already have a plus card and do not have the plus membership anymore. This is a night mare waiting to happen.

Hour change is being done for the same reason that the Night Shift manager is no longer over day receiving. Those things are going to be cut. They're being separated out now so that it's easier to cut them out all at once.

FMH here— familiarize yourself with Jet.com return policy because they are Walmart. If you sell the product for a little cheaper and show the savings to the member while they purchase, telling them they can get the cheaper price for promise of no returns. What does that do, shrinks payroll at the membership desk, reduces returns, reduce claims work...... and so on

Great post their needs to be guidelines no other business breaks it like we do! Return policy is the other prime factor as long as it makes the member happy, we will take back sh-- that is broke 10 years old etc...management afraid of members calling home office.

Although I do agree with the hours and card checks at the door management will not change from allowing everyone to come in. We have individuals that don't have memberships coming in early because it is easier to steal because we are not staffed enough to watch. One door greeter, one register, one membership desk, along with a few in other areas. Most clubs don't see activity until 9:30. Those that come in early are club pickup, tbc, or retired individuals. They come in for the free food at the door.

Although a benefit of plus is early hours main benefit is cash rewards, optical, pharmacy, and the new one is the shipping. The early hours has not been a large success. The amount of payroll that is used is larger than the amount of sales during that time frame. Club hours do need to be adjusted to maximize our foot traffic. How many clubs barely have activity before 9am and the traffic dies down after 7pm? But yet there is no closing announcement because "the members feel rushed"? They shouldn't, they can read the hours of operation on the way in.

The bottom line is the HO and management don't follow their own guidelines. There is no SOP anymore because they want the flexibility to change it to suit them and in the process it makes all of the associates look bad for trying to follow the SOP.

There are too many problems to list and they will not be fixed with the management we have because it comes down to $$. They want their club to get the sell no matter what.

On a marketing note if you have more than one club in your area STOP crossing over your territory.

Main post here is your something to ponder going forward ... plus will be the only membership annndddd who mirrors that $100 membership with the perks??? Amazon Prime. Our plus membership will get you free 2 day ship and you shop in our warehouse and Walmart stores which resemble whattttt ??? Whole Foods. we are ahead on that front. Plus membership will also get your order pulled for you before 10am and you pick it up at club pick up while the store is stocked til 10am. Do you get where this is going.

Hi you must be new... just ask your COS what benefits you get with a Plus. Savings on optical, pharmacy, cash rewards... if utilized the reward will exceed the cost

We are cheating the members by luring them to believe that they have to pay $100 to shop early. We all know that you can still shop on the $45 membership. If they have not upgraded by now then they aren’t going to do so. They should be made to upgrade or come back at 10. I agree with the first poster class action lawsuit.

Marketing materials say we are supposed to use the opportunity to sell them a plus membership. There will be new signage at the door. But, as always, take care of the member. Can't wait.
