Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Kmart department by department

Food? What's wrong what's needed?

Clothing?

Home wares?

Toiletries? Seems in my opinion to be pricing

Seasonal? Very good department and quality of goods.

Candy? I think if Kmart could become the store that gets the newest most limited edition flavours of everything before everyone else, it could really drive traffic.

People need to be positive about the future of Kmart. It might have problems, but being negative is certainly not going to help. If it can be imagined then it can exist. Kmart's potential is limitless. All the greats began somewhere and everyone loves a comeback story. I certainly hope that Kmart can be the biggest comeback in the history of the universe!

What needs to be done is way overdue.

Most importany is fix the inventory system, so the store and DC has real time update counts, product doesn't go out of stock, product doesnt go missing at the DC or in transit, and product can be secured well in advanced by holding vendors accountable on delivery. The current system in use was originally unveiled with the promise of 48 hour DC to store turn around, and now is much closer to 6 weeks of OUT replenishment, that is if it is prompted at all. Leaves holes in distribution and leaves literal holes in store because lack of merchandise.

For in store pricing to be competitive, lower cost per unit needs to be negotiated, to increase the overall margin. Kmart reliance on outside vendors also keeps the prices higher. Only way to circumvent is to bring certain departments (pantry) mostly in house, which is not feasible with the distribution chain available.

I'm a positive person!

I'm positively positive that you have lost the plot!

You are clearly a bit simple in the head. Just make sure you wear your helmet when you leave the house.
