Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

Quite as Hell

First, y’all have slowed down posting some good rants. Second, where have Big D and his minions been? You would have thought by now there would have been a town hall or something, you know to talk about the layoff, the tanking stock, potential buyout or bankruptcy, how leadership is failing it’s employees. Not a peep. The beatings will continue until moral improves.

Doug’s not dead. I saw him walking between Pigot and Patterson on campus...weekend at Bernie’s?

Doug just spoke to the attendees at NAPE in Houston this last week. A digital print of that speech may be found below:

"Good afternoon conference attendees and honorary guests. I want to start out by saying something from the Ballad of Ricky Bobby. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and by the extended edition. You won't regret it. Where are my Value Barbarians at? Let's see those hands! Nobody? That usually always gets somebody in the Green Room. But seriously folks, downsizing is difficult. Its like crashing your car then thinking you're paralyzed then having your friend stick a knife in your leg so you realize that it was all in your head all.......Saying that out-loud just made me realize I was thinking about Ricky Bobby's life again. Based on a true story did you all know that? Anywho, we're fine, the company is fine, we're going to start hiring again soon....I think our stock should be around 25-50 any day now. In conclusion, we're going to keep selling these assets and eventually move the entire staff that is left into the Chesapeake Arena because hey, free rent I think since our name is on the building. Learned that from Six Sigma Lean training....Which I will have all manager and above, and 50% of those below go through before the end of this year. All the best and Merry Christmas or whatever we're celebrating."

I learned in our extensive and invaluable culture training that I should assume positive intent. I assume Doug is hard at work saving our asses.

But you know what they say about assuming.

But the culture training is saving the day! Haven’t you heard what a treat that’s been for everyone?

Doug’s clearly dead. Shocked you haven’t figured that out yet. We haven’t heard from the guy in over a year in person and have only received a vague promise of a town hall on the “coming weeks”. It’s been weeks. If he was alive we’d have heard from him by now.
