Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Product Marketing Layoffs

I was just laid off yesterday, as were several others in HBT Product Marketing. They are consolidating the product marketing team into 10 global pm's removing all brand focused pm's. This after confirming you only get matched 401k dollars if you are at the company through Dec 15th. How many people will you layoff on Dec 14th Honeywell??? Stay away new prospects, this company is not a nice place to work!

SHOCKING that a poster here would imply that the Homes Retail marketing team makes poor decisions. Maybe not having a sales guy as the segment leader would be a good start.

This is OP, I am not a band 4 employee. Just a lowly Band 3 Product Manager.

I’m sorry for the Homes folks but I haven’t seen many honeywell home products on Amazon with over 3.5 stars. Smart marketing would have bought some reviews to artificially boost the average to 4 stars.

That HR prez I locked horns with over the 401K match is going over to Homes. LOL (laughing-out-loud , not lots-of-luck)

By the time the spin is done later this year, the numbers will be so bad that the only way they can try to make it look like a profitable stand-alone company is to keep gutting it. With the horrific start that we are off to in 2018 in the homes business and a leadership team that has no clue how to turn it around, this will get much uglier. If you are part of the spin, hold on tight or be one of the first ones to get out and find a better opportunity. This space has incredible potential and some really good companies that are investing in it, it's just unfortunate that Honeywell did not see the value of the business.

Here's to hoping you find a more appreciative place to work. They will remove every last employee they can off the books and sell a shell of the company formerly known as Ademco/ADI.

1ucu - I hate to say it but you are right. Honeywell has the worst marketing ever. Ive seen locations where they actually printed out and hung pictures where you can see Honeywell products in scenes on popular TV shows in the background.....newsflash: theres another way to see products on popular TV shows ...its called a commercial.

Then there's marketing our next gen thermostats on a folding table in a fast food chain across the US...yes that really happened and the brains behind that is still with the company. Oh and yea.....we sold about 2% of plan on those after that wonderful and visionary campaign.

I think the next campaign is marketing to garage sales across the US...thats a joke....maybe

To the OP -

This may sound harsh, but maybe if you guys had actually marketed our products and services efficiently and successfully, you could have saved Hunnywell jobs (including your own) through increased sales and market share. Just a thought.

Can’t wait to see who’s still around in the summer. Good luck to us all!

Also, I think no more accrued vacation $ with the new unlimited policy. Fortunately for me I got let go in Jan 2016. Got a surprise check for vacation I wasn't expecting then. Hon quick to try to squash these. Better outside Hon at new job. Scared, greedy little ba$$tards running the show.

Honeywells marketing team s---s but come on. My fear is some of the really bad marketing folks may end up at one of the new companies and cause more of the damage they are responsible up until now.

Are they allowing you to stay to get your band 4 MIP bonus on March 9th or is your last day March 2nd so they can keep the money and not pay your severance based on February pay raise??

Per the announcements the 401k bi-weekly match ends in April. I believe it said mid-April

From that point forward there is no need to stay

The 401K match has been still happening every paycheck so far. I checked my 401k transactions and the company match was shown for the first two pay period deposits this year. The current pay period should show up to be checked by Monday.
