QCA cannot operate independently of QCT anymore. Too much IP and infra is shared now. Divest QCA and it will die.

It would be technically easier for AVGO to spin off their wifi division as BRCM uses more commodity ARM IP. This will not happen of course, for purely political reasons. AVGO is only interested in modem and does not understand or care about the ecosystem that QCT has made to orbit around it.

Expect AVGO to stumble in mobile if the acquisition goes through. Years of SoC integration work repeated to get back to where QCA is today.

What is our WiFi business worth as standalone ? They will compete with Quantenna, mediatek, Broadcom.

Octane's investor buddy will buy Wlan and BT teams for peanuts and let it dwindle down. Look at brcm's recent sale of ruckus wireless during brocade acquisition. That was a conflict.

Puzzling why avago will divest QC Access Point (which is leading market share) and keep brcm Access Point will is losing market share to QC Access Points, because they don’t have SON and poor MU MiMO

AVGO made clear in their papers that the Q wifi business had no future post take over.

Certainly not a spinoff. How would this ever be profitable as a stand-alone company? It is quite certain that it would be closed down completely.

In this case, IP==two years behind Broadcom. Look inside a Samsung GS8 or iPhone. You won’t find a QCA WiFi radio. This spinoff is a no-brainer.
