Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Last I heard, 100% of BOPS and only 50% of fulfillment sales contribute to sales goals.

I'm in one of the 242 and our building is owned in a mega mall. Most likely safe unless some developer makes an offer the company can't refuse.

Stores are pretty much empty but don’t fulfillment sales contribute to the sales goals? Less in store and more online sales. So the numbers must not be made up. Anyway, I’m no trends expert but I do see many stores will be closed in the next few years. I’m hanging in there for a severance and I look for a part time job to fall back on. Then when I’m let go, I can begin to look for full time.

How can we find out when our buildings lease is up?

It seems to be a highly guarded secret?

Can someone please post the stores that fall into these categories?

@RMKbQnw-1xzl Affluent location does not define inclusion to Top 50. The simple questions you need to ask and omitted from your long reply: what is the volume of your store? Is your store exceeding expectations, better monthly/quarterly sales this year vs. last year & making plans monthly/quarterly?

I like this one: "Any salesperson with half a brain knows that the numbers that you tell us the store is doing are incorrect!" You must have someone in your store with two brains who can manipulate POS transactions & fudge the computer numbers. Stop guessing & ranting, you've been there 13 years, you must know a manager who can explain to you the simple facts. I'm not a company defender, I retired when I saw the trend & visible signs at the end of each year the past 5 years. Good luck.

Really, I am in a Top 50 store. During the average week Monday thru Friday my store is empty! The third floor ..... you are lucky if you see more than 3 customers on that floor. The same for the 2nd floor. The first floor only Women's shoes has traffic. Now the realty. I work in shoes. My department originally when I started 13,years ago had 31,employees. Now we are down to 12.,Most days we just stand around waiting for a customer to come in the store! Half the time they are returning not purchasing! The managers say turn that return into a purchase. Not happening! You see after the millennium sat on her bed in her pajamas and placed her order on her I pad for 5 shoes, She knew already she only was keeping only one! You also can not open credits and so called Make Magic if there are no customers! And Macys, stop the rally's . Any salesperson with half a brain knows that the numbers that you tell us the store is doing are incorrect! I really think that some CFO is fudging numbers to keep his job. Anyway enough ranting.... Point is we have no customers !! Wake up Macys . Whatever new team you just hired to turn this company around should be fired! They do not have a clue what is going on. Come visit. PS I am located in New York on Long Island , in an affluent community with no customers . I wonder what the other stores look like? Employees tell your stories
