Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Sinister Scheduling

Are you a long time BBB employee? Is your schedule changing out of the blue? I want to hear from you. Long time associates at my buddy's store are having their schedules completely changed. Changed to the point where it's no where close to their original one. Some associates even doing multiple depts. Not sure if it has to do with the company wanting to force them out on their own terms. Want to hear more from others. SW-R

I haven’t noticed any negative fall out from auto scheduling yet. Our store has used it for about three weeks and so far no complaints from my co workers. I specifically asked Ops if auto schedule would recognize our availability and she said it would. Hope it stays smooth sailing on at least that front.

We have two full time employees who are putting in their notices because the new scheduling system has them working at random times that doesn’t match their current availabilities. One of them has worked for us for 14 years.

They are making everybody change their availability, doesn't matter what it was when they hired you!

They are full timers 35 plus hours a week and some part timers w/o benefits are also being worked 35 hrs per week, they are using the people they have left anywhere in the store. This is one way thst full timers become frustrated and leave. When they do this next round of layoffs there will not be any vacation pay, no sick time of severance pay.

Auto scheduling. System produces schedule based on associates job title. Also going to auto ordering and improving register efficiency. All to save time and cut hours.
