What kind of an idiot would work for someone that they believe is stealing from them? Serfdom is only self imposed in the US. Plenty of people paid with their blood and lives to ensure that for you. If you don't like your situation you can change it. Pointing at people that make more than you and assuming that they must have stolen it from you to get paid so much is infantile thinking. You agree to your salary and benefits every day you show up for work so stop blaming other people and take a long look in the mirror.

haz-coq -- it does matter what the CEO takes, er makes. His ridiculous largesse is paid for by the 'serfs' (as you put it) reduced benefits and stolen bonuses, as well as the age discrimination which encourages management to chuck long time, loyal employees before they can incur the inevitable medical costs that come with age. It's a zero sum game pal -- what the Lord CEO gets, is quite literally taken out of our pockets. We do the work, he lives large. He makes more in one working day that the average engineer makes in a year. Go figure.

There are hidden incentives for the bloated salaries/bonuses:

I'm not -hoq, but here's another "fun fact" about US CEO pay comparison across US companies.

(from Harvard Business Review)

Unfortunately, CEO pay of 333 times median worker salary is pretty close to average in the US. That's just the way it is.

What do you think you ought to be paid to run a $40B (guessing) company with over 100k employees? There are leaders of small companies with 25 employees pulling down a few million a year so if you simply extrapolate....

Whining about people that make huge bank because you want to be like them but aren't is weak sauce dude. Howabout quit your job and start or buy a business? Yoi sure as hell aren't on track to be a future Darius by being a Honeywell serf
