Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

How many more are getting laid off this year? Are they closing any plants in NY anytime soon? Is GE going bankrupt?

I got laid off after a year and a half of running around for this company. Being harassed by management to do more to save our jobs. How well did that work out? In a way I’m glad I am out of GE in upstate NY I took all my iea benifit in one lump sum and closed my 401k I would never want to go back to that plant again. The managers treat the employees like they are better than the union workers. They are better alright as screwing up the plant. The legacy Union is completely broke there is no unity in the plant. Union members turning other union members in for the dumbest things. It is bad enough that the company is already looking to reprimand any union guy for anything.

I wonder if GE will be going bankrupt soon? Then the government will give GE some bailout money. Then all the corporate big wigs can line their pockets with millions in bonuses. Meanwhile you might be called back at a lower wage and even worse healthcare coverage. GE only cares about what looks good on paper to benefit the company. Even though they have been cooking the books for years for big raises.

Screw the little guy the rich get richer

Well getting ready for my stress free new long term career. Good luck To my former coworkers!

About 3000 so far, not including European cuts that were announced but still in reconciliation period.

GE announced 12,000 layoffs but we have no idea how many they've let go. I'd guess they have achieved half.
