People claiming to know the details are spreading FUD. Don’t expect any updates until April earliest.

Correction to my post below- It was 4 or 8 weeks + 2 wks/year in 2015. I wrote 2 or 4 wks below.
The only “known” at this point is that there’s going to be a lay-off. Package details have not been communicated yet. I’m guessing warn notice ~March 20th based on the older May RSU grant dates, but that’s just speculation. These people claiming to have been laid-off might be people getting fired on PIPs (or just total BS). It’s common practice to offer a package to someone being fired to get them to voluntarily resign. Three months salary plus insurance is kind of standard from my experience. The 2015 package was two or four weeks (staff & above were four) plus two weeks per year.
Selection will be based on your function and/or your recent review ratings. If you’re working on something that’s going to be cancelled, you might be out unless you’re a very strong performer and well-liked by your supervisors. It’s possible you could be spared and transferred. I say “supervisors” because managers don’t have much power, if any, in the final decision. It’s director and above that really count.
Best of luck to all. And rather than count on luck, everyone should always be prepared for change and keep their skills sharp.
This time around they may give only 1wk./year of service with the cost cutting
@vcv what is the layoff package you got.
4 wk salary + 2wk/yr worked ?
Please let us know. I am in the same boat. I just want to leave can’t tolerate toxic work environment anymore.
