Thread regarding Advance Auto Parts Inc. layoffs

Too little, too late

The executive team at AAP spent half a day at the carquest training center to learn the difference between a commercial customer and a diy customer and the difference between a professional part and a diy part. AAP, a retail company, bought carquest, a commercial focused company, in 2014. They are just NOW trying to learn the difference between commercial and diy???

According to one guy at the carquest training center "they still don't get it"!

This company could care less about finding people that really know what they are doing. Advance only wants cheap labor that does what it is told.

Not only do they not understand it. Trying to explain it to them is harder than teaching Pigs to fly!

They have no vision for large commercial accounts and no desire to serve them.

To them a good solid commercial customer is the one who buys all those BS promo packs so they can check the box on their spread sheets!

Typical Advance, can only follow, does not know how to lead, and always trying to glue the broken pieces back together. All the time it was thought buying CARQUEST would "solve" the inability of handling commercial customers and they couldn't get that right either. Doesn't this tell you people something?

I remember going to Roanoke for the commercial ramp up. They would show the other guys as NAPA, Autozone, Car Quest, and Pep Boys. No mention of Fisher, who had their warehouse and home office in my back yard and two hours from Roanoke. Short sighted vision. Seems the company didn't break down markets.
