I'm now on the outside but it's not Oracle out here. I miss Bugtraq and MyDesktop.

Zimbra, please come home.
I miss the septuagenarian billionaire’s reassurance that he’s not worried about the future
I miss the leaky Riata roof.
I miss the farts
What are you, 3 years old? Really? Surely you can think of something better than that.
I miss the free TP
I miss the farts
I miss the way that new developers from India were added to the group, saying this is a way to increase headcount and productivity.
I miss the management telling me to delete all my bugs from bugdb, so they can say there are no bugs left to fix.
I miss the great perks like free Iron Man posters.
I miss filling out my review and then wondering if, maybe this year, the manager will actually bother to complete it.
I miss the fear of talking to anyone outside my group, for fear of the manager finding out.
I miss the feeling that I was in Bangalore when goingnto Bay Area offices!
I miss “please don’t urinate on seat” signs in toilet
I miss getting better info from here than from mgt.
I miss the people who were so good at s---ing up to the manager. Glad they are still there. They deserve it.
@RZ5lcNf-1bti you had it easy. Try this one: being in CET time zone, getting online at 4 AM because “Beijing team may need some help”. Going through the rest of the day in haze and coding on the side. Scrum meeting at 6 PM when West Coast comes in. Couple more hours of haze. Going to sleep. Repeat as requested by idiot senior manager who then thankfully got RIFed together with Your’s truly. Almost made it worthwhile.
That's awful. There will be a better place to work. Good luck.
Is there still a party room on floor 2 of building 7 in Broomfield? Didn't the ISR group get drunk in there all the time?
I miss getting hardware that was end of life by 5 years to replace hardware that was end of life by 8 years. I miss the bold face lies from management. I miss seeing groups come in at 10am, go to lunch at 11am, get back at 1am, straight to the gym, shower, then leave. They must swallow for JC.
I miss putting a dime in the toilet door so I can take a Larry.
I miss Oracle powerbrowser.
I miss needing my LOB VP to approve update 3rd party software. Like Emacs.
+1 for Like buttons!

I miss my manager's manipulation and my carefully worded responses.
I miss my manager's cute little rages and rants.
I miss the time difference between here and India. The sending of one email per day and waiting for the response, then repeating.....
I miss the laughter.... when the VP above us said we were going to have 100% unit test coverage of all code.
I miss the build system. Waiting for 2 days for my change to be available in the build.
I would also like to see "like" buttons. There have been some great posts on this site. Like buttons and the ability to search for most liked, would be really great.
I wish this site had “Like” buttons for postings. Great ones on this thread...
I miss having every popular Linux distro on the prohibited software list.
I miss working with ADF. The 5 minute build time for every tiny change in the code.
I miss the workflows, mandatory training, lots of accounts + password changes, and I miss beehive.
hahahahahaha
I miss the skunk living in the poison ivy between the building and parking lot.
Now with out all the stress, I just get a lot of work done, spend time with the family, meditate and
work out. Its not the same
Oracle was my family before they let me go. Now I only have a wife and kids.
Beehive mail and zimbra... I miss you. I also miss the encrypted hard drives and the 5 minute boot time of my laptop. I miss wondering when I would get laid off and the motivation that gave me to interview, get certifications and update my linked in profile.
Now with out all the stress, I just get a lot of work done, spend time with the family, meditate and work out. Its not the same.
At least I don't have to look at a 73 year old billionaire bragging about how large his database unit is....
So right!!! Its the only thing he ever really did in tech: the database. Everything else he just purchased and ran into the ground.
I miss the constant harassment and sabotage.
I miss psychopaths anywhere you look.
Same for me. Don't know how to think or what to do next without them. LOL!
I miss the free healthcare
I miss listening to Oracle management quote "Larry", Larry said... Oh Larry will... Larry's going to save us all... Ha, Ha, Ha its only Larry being Larry. At least I don't have to look at a 73 year old billionaire bragging about how large his database unit is....
