After hearing the cuts coming in my store this week, I am speechless. They are far greater than I anticipated. This is insane.

North Jersey as I told you before you did not have 200 people cut at Paramus. The 300 pages were of all positions across the entire company who were considered for layoff and contains those who were cut (Severance Eligible) and those not cut (Not Severance Eligible). Paramus Park had 49 people In the Severance Eligible column. Those were the only people cut. The people in the Not Severance Eligible column WERE NOT CUT. You did not layoff 200 people, not even 200 at Paramus and Garden State combined - they lost 56.
Update.....in Paramus over 200 people let go. Rumor was 50 boy was that wrong. The book I received had 300 plus pages of people let go at all the Macy's which is standarded procedure. Times are hard for retail in general so hard decisions where made.
Is your Jewlery Clerical gone too?
All part-time positions gone in Jewelry complex except 1 pt,, 1 ft and 1 captain left.
Tick tock tick tock time is up.....50 people gone at the paramus nj store which is 15 mins from nyc...and counting.....it's happening and will continue......wake up from the coma.....cuts all around....they need to save money so bye...bye employees
In the store I left a few months ago, they were not even trying to fill the open Support Lead position I was promoted out of. I took it as a sign that my days were numbered. Got out before the busy season fired up. No regrets.
We've lost our AP manager and some cosmetic positions so far. Has anyone lost anyone in their merchandising, pricing, signing or receiving support teams? I haven't heard anything yet but that means nothing...
I am a PT5 (or at least I WAS until being cut this week in spite of being a dependable, hard-working, productive, well-liked employee.) And yes, PT5 and Flex are different. A PT5 is guaranteed 3 to 8 hours but can pick up additional if available. Anyone know if a PT5 can switch to a Flex position?
Our store had all pt5 cut awhile ago and was tricked to think adding ft spots would be better. Wrong. With the addition of ft usually that will mean a cut to pt and pt5. So, current pt associates will bump up to ft and no more bodies/hours will be added most ft only get 28-32 hours. Some days there just aren't enough scheduled sales people to do all that is expected now.
Yes, I stand corrected. PT5 3-8 hours assigned and up to 2 days assigned. I have the associate guide to options and availability in my hands.
PT is min 12 hrs weekly and PT5 is min 3 hrs weekly.
Correct. PT5 and Flex are not the same thing. Short hour part time associates are scheduled 5 days a week for a short shift. They are guaranteed at least 5 hours a week.
No PT5 and Flex are NOT the same. Not even technically. Flex get no gusranteed minimum hours and aren’t being cut. PT5 get generated at least one shift a week. All 10 PT5 jobs in my store ...gone I bet.
technically PT5 and flex is the same thing. there's only three associate codes....FT, PT, and PT5. I am in a 60m store and we are cutting pt5 but adding ft
PT5 is part time 5 hours a week given schedule. Flex is different and safe for now.
What is PT5?
Is PT5 the flex position?
All PT5 is being eliminated and cosmetics and jewelry are taking up to 50% reductions in some cases.
25%...how? Are yoiu sure? What is your volume store? How do you know, have people been told?
What about Jewlery Complex associates and Jewlery support?
Cosmetics almost in half :/
What areas?
What is the volume of your store, 25 million or 15 million? Below 15M?
We are losing 25% of our Selling Associates. There are a few positions being added but still a HUGE impact on the store. I don't know about Exec/Leads yet other than OPS/AP. I wish there were better communication from up the ladder.
In my store PT5 is getting heavily cut, however we are adding more FT so actually getting added hours
What have you heard? Please tell us what’s going on and what’s being cut in your store...How can they cut more?
Like what? Please elaborate
