This strategy comes from the same SVP that came up with go90. So we can be sure the business idea will be based on wishes and dreams. Nobody takes him seriously and so long as it stays under Oath, none of the profitable business unit leaders will stop it. It will implode just like Go90. And that SVP? He's already angling for his next job so he can blame the failure on someone else.
Verizon does not get it. Verizon will NEVER win in any field where customers have a reasonable other option. The only reason Verizon still survives in Wireline/Wireless is because it is part of an oligopoly and consumers have no choice but Verizon for the most part. VZ knows this and as a result treats customers like dirt by charging FAR too much for their services. No millennial is ever going to buy any VZ product or watch any VZ stream if they have the option...which they do in this case. Hence why all these continue to hilariously fail.
Tell me how does Lowell still seriously have a job at this point?
Who's the retard that said Verizon should buy out comcast? Verizon couldn't buy a pot to piss in right now lol. Broke a$$ Verlieson!
@2iea - rumor has it that the execs are feverishly working on a new multimillion dollar project called BlowHum. It designed to take 50% of a market that will never exist. But it will be more awesome than anything offered by Verizon at this time. I can see the bonuses and pats on the back already.
It's easy to criticize.
Successes often try a number of avenues.
I guess VZ has to buy Comcast then.
Yeah...Fierce Wireless has an article stating that it will take VZ about 15 years for it to try and capitalize on that fixed wireless strategy, at a cost of over $35 billion. Hmm...how'zat supposed to work? Oh, and an analyst states that VZ might take up to...wait for it...7% of the market share. (Highly doubtful, knowing VZ's inability to price competitively).
Meanwhile, Comcast has DOCSIS 3.1 built out already in half (or more) of their footprint, allowing Gig (and multi-gig) speeds over coax. Huh.
Also, Comcast owns 1/3rd of ALL broadcast content, so...good luck with that VZ. ;-)

After the unparalleled success of Blow90 why not?
