Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

It`s all making a circle and it`s not done.

Im a 10 year associate working at a Texas Sams Club that did not close.. If you think back to when all this came about Walmart was the reason so many mom and pop operations closed .Walmart went in to all these small towns with a conquer and destroy attitude and took the living from millions of people and did not care what the outcome would be. It changed so many lives and caused small towns to be deserted. Whats happening now is another man came up with a similar idea and expanded on it. He figured out he could do it without brick and mortar and handle it all through shipping. He will also cause a lot of empty buildings. And for the last couple of years everyone is seeing Amazon has changed how the retail world will run. EVERTHING! is becoming automated! and at incredible speed . I`m 55 and i think during mylifetime i will meet George Jettsen. :) I wish everyone the best.

Just want to chime in and say that you mention Amazon and how they are changing the retail world. While I do agree I would also like to point out that more and more Amazon ex and current employees are speaking out about the work conditions of this new retail giant that is changing the retail world...and just Incase you have not heard it is not a good thing.

Think Walmart/Sam’s Club is a “bad” place to work? Go on over to Amazon and let us know how that works out for you. From pilots, managers and down to the people whom “pick” items to be shipped word has it that Amazon is good for TEMPORARY employment at best.

You may be correct in saying that things have come full circle for Walmart/Sam’s however the circle is just starting for Amazon.
