Probably one of the most honest, thoughtful posts on this board.

Wow, seems the last post is honest. I admittedly am an ex Weatherford hand. But must say that after leaving the company has given me perspective. Weatherford is a very Pooley managed company, financial data does not lie. Personal does not count as there are great folks with a lot of innovation at the company, however management is selling them short to ensure they keep their jobs. Hope the best for the group, but it will never be what it could or should be at this point.

Yes. This is exactly what Weatherford in the Permian has become.

  1. (CONTROL FREAK MANAGER.) A manager that sits from afar and micro manages everything. You can't do anything you really need to do or want to do. You must follow strict instructions from a guy that knows next to nothing about your product line.

  2. (BLAME GAME.) I was the fall guy for the previous managers sins. I come in to clean up a mess and was ultimately blamed for the mess. They shot the messenger. The first of the last two managers had been promoted and the second one knew the axe was going to fall soon and quit. I had seen that done in several other product lines, but didn't think they would do it with me. But hey they had to blame someone right?

3&4. (TRUST & GOSSIP) The backbiting and backstabbing is now at epic proportions. Don't trust anyone. Especially if they can benefit from you being out of the way. As soon as I was promoted the false accusations started to fly. I probably only heard a fraction of the false rumors and accusations, but the ones I heard about ranged from the silly to the totally insane. I tried to ignore the rumors and rise above it, but evidently some of the sh_t slinging stuck and people believed it.

  1. (TWO FACED-BROWNNOSERS.) Maybe the brownnosers and backstabbers have always been there, but now it seems that they make up the majority of the employees left. That is not to say that there are not good people left because there are, and I feel really sorry for them to be left in a viper pit full of backbiters.

  2. (Treated like a number.) If you've worked for Weatherford for any length of time this has become a reality.
