Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Profits over People

Yet another weather event in Texas....and yet again the SW Regional Team acted slowly in their decision making about closing stores because of the weather. Freeways were closed and there were accidents everywhere, but let's stay open as long as possible. They made poor decisions during Harvey as well... who is responsible for this idiocy?

there was a real sense of "F***K TMs" from our esteemed leaders during this storm. At least there is a stronger sense of how these people view those below them.

I read that text message and laughed. Seems like a bunch of kindergarten children typed it and pushed the “send” button.

Quit complaining about the stores if you are still working there. You have to take your destiny into your own hands. I saw some of the most submissive and pitiful demeanored workers at there than at any other employer. They did not display a shred of empowerment or bravery to fight for their rights. This is the type of worker that Whole Foods prefers. Low self esteem that astonished me because I had higher regard for some people thank they had for themselves (some people constantly put themselves down). Managment looked down on the "team members" too. Other managers were scared shi+!ess for their jobs.

Don't get stuck at whole Foods, it is a short term job.

If you don't unionize or quit, don't complain.

Team member safety was an afterthought. After they realized stores weren’t even gonna break 5k in sales for the day they probably decided the labor wasn’t worth it. If TM safety came first they wouldn’t made people go to work seeing as how 100s of accidents took place within a few hours of the freeze.

The emergency text this morning was cleverly delivered to induce a second guess in calling out. When the Chief of Police advises you not to drive....I listen to him, not a corporation that believes it is running a military unit. We are not saving lives by anything we do for Amazon.

I called out with a sense of urgency immediately after getting that lame text from the South Region rejects that we inherited here in the Mighty SW.

YUP! I had to take an unexcused absence because I had to stay home with the kiddos. Mind you, the many of the Houston schools were closed on Monday night-well before the ice storm. I wonder why it takes them so long to understand these circumstances?
