Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

How many not in RIF will quit?

If you aren't laid off, will you Quit? How many will? And is that a number they accounted for?

I will. Although I am fairly certain that I am a part of the up coming RIF I am tired of the constant change, doing Humana's dirty work, explaining self-managment, monitored status, program elimination, HCM turn over all with Humana spin. And all for members who don't want to answer the phone. I am tired of being Humana's mouthpiece. How about Humana just start paying members claims and cover their meds and they wouldn't need as many HCMs? Better yet, how about single payor healthcare? Or as ystem everyone understands so members don't need their benefits explained to them by someone who isn't even allowed to quote benefits or eligibility. It is beyond comprehension. The program is failing. The Humana ship is sinking and the executives know it which is why they are cashing in while they can.

I hope for the best, especially for those who mentioned that they need this job and don't see any other option. I have the most caring and hard working team mates and have met some amazing people with Humana.

RIF or not. I am out as soon as I get an offer.

I'm leaving. I feel confident that I'm not going to be in the RIF due to my performance this time, but what about the next rif? Or the one after that? I'm tired of being on edge all the time, wondering am I going to be reteamed yet again, if I do will I get to keep my members this time or will I start all over again with new people? What's the viability of this program long term? What's the newest expectation they are going to give us? It's always more work, more micromanagement, less acknowledgement of a job well done and more stress. I don't feel like I have job security with Humana. If I am in the RIF, oh well. At this point I'm just numb.

If you have four years with Humana, then you would get 8 weeks severance.

After working 4 years, how much severance is that exactly?

Two things here. First, If you have the chance of a job then go now. Go and hope that by leaving someone who doesn't have another job can keep taking home a paycheck. Second. They must have a number in mind for attrition but at some point, it all becomes fixed. If they tell us next week that 50 RN's will be impacted then those 50 will be impacted no matter how many leave.

I have been saving more and spending less since the first layoff. I am a single parent and cannot depend on anyone but me. I am fortunate to have a cushion in the bank right now and I have empathy for all that live paycheck to paycheck. I will hold out for the severance also. My prayers for those that cannot afford to wait it out.

I'm waiting it out. If I get the ax, then I just do. I'm actually rethinking even applying for another position within Humana. I think when you transfer to another department, there is a 90 day period in which if you don't work out you can be let go. If that is true, if there is another lay off, you could be just let go and there'd be no severance, right? With the instability of Humana, why take the chance?

HCM RN here, I am going to wait and see as well, while looking elsewhere in the background. If I don't get laid off now, OK fine. If I do get laid off now, the 60 days and severance will help... So far I have not seen anything that is any better than what I have right now. Others are posting they found better/happier/better paying jobs. I sure would like to know more about what those jobs are! I would leave now if I could find something better/happier/better pay.

I’m waiting for my 60 days and severance. We will see more layoffs after this round. They no more planned layoffs. I just had to laugh when I heard that. RN here

I think they absolutely plan for people to quit before they are impacted. It benefits Humana greatly if they do. No severance, no paying for 60 days notice etc. Why else would they hold the Town Hall 3 weeks before the actual RIF date and have this hanging over our heads? Now that the bonuses are being paid, I suspect there will be mass exodus. It is really hard to work now as if nothing had happened waiting for the axe to drop. My heart goes out to the Live Healthy PHC's. They do such an amazing job for their members. I hope that a better opportunity awaits each of you!!
