Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

WONDERING ABOUT LAYOFF

If you are a coach please help alleviate our minds with a few things. We KNOW you know more then you are letting on. You were told to do assessments on each of us and most of these reports are flawed. Heaven help you if you were out for extended time with health, family or PTO which you had earned. These reports are skewed with HCMRN who are working WAY over 8 hours per day and now those who worked 8 hours, been here for 9 years and last years was not their best year and they are sole provider will likely lose their jobs.

Did you have any "area" to alert this "company who makes the decision" to extenuating circumstances?

If you know of person getting CANNED why can't you privately warn them so they can start hunting....I have my resume out but several are just praying. Why not at least give them a heads up or some HINT???

Do we even know the DATE of this RIF???? How many HCMRN will get cut?????

I do not understand how people scream Evals are screwed. Have you seen the multiple items on the eval? I have not seen the one my boss did on me. Not will I ever. Nor will I know all the other levels of meetings that happened to make final determinations or what happens when hr looks fir fair practices. I get we are all upset. But frankly your contacts have very little to do with it

@1enp... You will get a 60-day notice in advance of your 6 months of severance if you've been here 9 years as OP stated. Do you really think having a coach stick their neck out there to give you a two or three week earlier notice is going to improve your situation? It will not. Just assume you may be impacted and plan accordingly.

@RljYt6G The reason your coach won't give you the heads up! We have established the coach does the eval. So when that coach tells people they have been impacted they will trot off the HR and complain that it's unfair. I would. That coach then gets fired. The company who makes the decision is Humana. And the coach is expected to make allowances for PTO and System issues and training.

I understand why you are asking these things and even for a heads up but it won't happen. As for consulting a lawyer, good luck with that. Make sure it's a free consult. I am as worried as the next person and I have college loans but these questions don't help.

"if you have worked here 9 years you have 6 months severance so what is the problem"....that is pretty dumb to ask. How about if i am in the older generation??? Not easy getting hired when you are in your mid 50's, kids are in college and sole income....

Taking pto affects your mps score. How many people over the last few months has had their rosters covered when they were off? Not many, unless your team was doing it. So yes, indirectly if you took pto and are laid off it could be because of taking pto.

if Binky is right, that’s about 1/3 of the CMs....should we be expecting that across the board, for hcmss, too?

We don’t know the lookback period for the assessment, and PTO should not matter, but unscheduled PTO does matter. You should not be penalized for PTO

Coaches know nothing but COMS do. The coaches who do know anything are the ones related to COMs and upper management.

If you have worked at Humana for 9 years, you're going to have over 6 mos in severance pay. What is the problem?

Yeah we have to back off coaches as they just don’t know yet.

From a reliable authority: coaches do not know who is getting laid off, including themselves.

The post by blinky said 400 to 500 nurses and the target notification date being the 8th. Everything else they said was proven 100% true, so we have no reason to doubt his/her words.

I agree with you that it seems like this assessment can be unfairly skewed. Seems like we are being actively punished for taking pto. If I am in the RIF I plan to speak to an attorney about the legality of that. I don't know if that will accomplish anything, but I want to at least get an expert opinion.
