Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Store Planning Layoffs

Store Planning Field Managers, directors, senior directors were already told they would have some cuts. I wouldn’t be surprised if the entire Sams SP was cut, save for a handful of people (they don't work out of SWDC though). They already rolled out cuts to the lower levels of SP in November.

Definitely far reaching impacts.

Will miss everyone & team. SP has been family for many years, I wish everyone the best.

I will be looking for another position, I’m missing my emails & taking care of everyone.

Just stay positive and stick together.

Heavy impacts for store planning. Several 'retirements' announced.

I’ve seen the retirement emails as well. Talked to one of the individuals and he said he was not let go, he just saw the writing on the wall and decided to leave on his own terms. Not sure if that’s true or not. Another source said the bulk of the layoffs for SWDC were actually coming on Thursday and Friday. We won’t know it’s done until we start seeing the realignment emails with the new reporting structures for the various teams or we have a conference call like last time.

Yes, I was referring to the Sams SP group that works on Moberly. I suspect they will finally be integrated in with the rest of SP and moved to SWDC. Supposedly the SWDC cuts are being announced today.

Sam's SP has been gone for a while in the field. WM and Sams are being handled by one team now. At the office they may be separate, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't follow the field soon.

Indeed they did roll the cuts to the lower levels of SP a few months back. The entire organization is now top heavy as they don't have nearly the amount of people they did a few months ago to oversee.

I don't doubt your information... I heard very much the same earlier this week. I'm sure we'll know something by the end of the week.

This is true. My wife was cut back in November 2017 - worked out for us as she was going to quit anyway (family responsibilities) - I am just hoping I do not get affected any time soon, I really need this job.

God bless.
