Thinking ahead

For those laid off in previous rounds how did your HSA spending account and 401k work or transfer after the lay off?

When you get notice of your last day, you will get a packet that will explain what to do with your HSA. Depending on how they set up the severance packet. I was impacted in Nov. I am still being receiving severance pay. I used all of my HSA money. I was told there will be a bank card mailed out with the remaining amount in the HSA to your home after the last day of the severance period. If you have FSA money it will be lost if you don't use it. Call Charles Schwab to discuss how you want to proceed with your 401 to avoid penalties and taxes. There are many options. And remember if you don't join a class action suite, you can have your severance packet. Your packet will explain a lot of it, but I found it best to call HR4U for any in depth questions or concerns. Also call Schwab for all your options. Good Luck and all the best.

No, what is in your account is what;s in there. I'm not sure if you can continue making payments into HSA or FSA, that would be something to ask HR.

Did you make payments for your flexible spending to Humana? Right now it is taking out of your check.

You can continue using you HSA funds until you deplete them and your 401K will just sit until you roll it into another 401K or IRA or take it out. You can contact Charles Schwab and ask your options about leaving it and contributing to it if you want. I still have a 401K sitting out there from a past job.
