Thread regarding Goodyear layoffs

Layoffs in Akron ?

Any updates folks? I am in EMEA and get this obnoxious "Business Development Managers" visit us from time to time, talk to us in a condescending manner, eat and drink wine at company money, blow some hot air, treat us like we are really stupid and then leave. We hear nothing about actual company strategy going forward. The recent ranking of the "Just Companies": 787 companies listed, Goodyear - 732! INTEL #1. The Just ranking takes into consideration how the company treats its employees, customers, environment and how it contributes to the local economy.

I was told to go home last week. The reason is financial and lack of profit. Have no idea what I'll do to pay my bills.

Heard there may be some layoffs in Akron, some may have already happened. Can anyone out of Akron confirm please? Will help in getting my mindset ready.

Since its Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Hope they wear some "rubber" when they give it to me from behind in the next few weeks. Protect overpaid H1B jobs and fire Americans. And lose $3 billion in value in as many months and then some. God bless America

The way the stock has been tanking since last October, I won't be surprised if a layoff is around the corner. Company has lost over $ 3 billion in value in the last 5 months and all we get is hype
