FAQs...if Martians take over, do you get your shares? If you fall off a cliff and die, do you get your shares? If you tell your manager to s--- face do you get it?

Of course this is ridiculous...just like waiting two years to get paid. This just took moral lower than a snakes belly...way to go Lowell! He gets no respect - his retirement is way over due!!

It's not the offer thst people are disgusted with. It's the way it will be dispersed. It's insulting.

@3izb - actually unlike the other companies that paid cash bonuses, nobody at Verizon has received anything yet. Oh and don't forget you'll be ripped off on you STI this year too. Boot-licker.

50 shares of stock is a slap in the face to Verizon employees. What a greedy, self-serving mess of a company! Glad I am gone.....

"That's pretty simple. CASH."

So if VZ gave you $1000 right now like other companies out there you would have been content?

You think Lowell McAdam is waiting two years to cash in?

If verizon has all this extra money now the sti bonus next month better have a hugh multiplier. Otherwise it will prove 100%. How bad verizon is.

15 years ago on the wireless side you would get a $50,000 VAR and it was not announced to the world and Verizon didn't brag about it. You just got it after three years of service.

Now Lowell gives crumbs off his table that may equal about $2,000 in two years? And its all over the news as the greatest thing ever.

This company has become a joke. The glory days are long gone.

all these other big companies are giving bonuses this year. As in right now. Noone has gotten anything from verizon yet. not until next year and if you are still with the company you will get half.

So that is why people are frustrated. If for some reason you are not with verizon next year you get squat.

I can understand new hires who have been with the company only a year or 2. Make it vest at your 3 years like the 401k for wireless. But there are employees who have been with the company for a decade or 2 and you are going to make them wait a year or 2 to receive this.

It just seems petty

I guess I'm confused. I read all these posts and see people upset about an additional payout for employees. It isn't paid out immediately, which I understand is frustrating to someone looking for instant gratification. My question is what would the people disappointed in this special reward have preferred instead?

@2rgw - You tell him honey. Don't let anyone talk bad about your daddy (Lowell) .... cause you know he's going to beat you when he get's home from work, or golf, or the bar, or .....

Half-empty views and pessimism is what a have empty-company with a dim future deserves. And from an onshore employee perspective, well that's half-empty too, boot-licker

Pessimism abounds. You're being given something of value that you did not have two weeks ago. Why does the glass always have to be 1/2 empty in your world?

If Verizon sells to another company, you can kiss the 50 shares good bye.

I guess he wants to save face after goofing the math so badly, but forecasting a 1000% gain in the span of 24 months might be a wee bit optimistic as well :-)

Take that shovel from him before he digs himself in any deeper.

It's nice to be getting something though.

Just hoping the new fed tax plan doesn't cancel out gains made in other ways.

My genius manager today said how do I feel about getting $25,000 in stocks , I said if the stock is trading at $50 per share and we get 50 shares that's $2,500 not $25,000, , he said by the time the 2 years is past it will be worth that much! LOl another spin, we should have gotten a 2,500 bonus not this game Verizon plays.

Read the FAQ on the eweb. You get the value of the rsu immediately if you retire or take an eisp -- so if you were planning on leaving in Feb or taking the first eisp, you get the rsu on the spot, in cash, as you go out the door.

OMG! You have to work for that s***hole company for two more years to get your bonus???? WTF! A fate worse than death no doubt.

I still say the best thing to do is wipe with it and send it back to the execs.

Then again .... the schmucks that are still there all love being treated like battered wives. So be sure to stay .... cause it's safe and you have no place else to go. bwahahahahahahahahahaha

It's not stock, it's profit sharing at the value of the stock on the day of payouts. The equivalent of 50 shares.

Verizon put out a video detailing how the payout works and we will get 25 shares in one year in cash after taxes and the other 25 the next year. And yes you will get taxed.

what a joke, 50 shares with a catch. remember back in 2000 they gave us a stock deal that was never worth a penney because of there clause?, I do. I was planning on leaving next year but if we have to be here 2 years I will stay. they Will pay me this time. this GREEDY company is embarrassing. VERIZON, YOU WILL PAY THIS TIME., ALL BROTHERS AND SISTERS REMEMBER THIS ON 2019

This looks good for VZW on paper, but they are banking on the fact that most of the people that are here today won't be here next year, not to mention in 2 years, you leave you get nothing and the company is out nothing. Why not give it to us as profit sharing direct into our 401k, or 1/2 now, 1/2 after vesting period.

@swf, if you're going to call someone out on their spelling, it's important that you avoid spelling errors:

"but were not getting options."

So we can’t cash in or sell it for 2 years? Does that mean we lose it if we separate from the company before the 2 years as well?

You mean the same wireless that charges all of their expenses on the wireline budget and pays practically nothing for the wired backbone that it runs on? I'll bet they're killing it! It's almost run like a non-profit organization with the expenses.

This place last month- "Verizon is so greedy, I bet they give us nothing! Who wants to bet right now?"

This place today- "They're only giving us RSUs?! F--- them!"

I think there's an abundance of angst coming from people who had zero intention of staying much longer who hoped to take a bonus before they ran. I have no intention of going anywhere- and be real. The stock isn't going to bottom out anytime soon, or have you forgotten that everything the "evil" company does is based on shareholder value? I'm pleasantly surprised by the news.

Y'all stay mad, though. It's doing you so much good!

@ijj I dont care what they do with the 17B because its not in my control.... that's how emotionally intelligent people deal with things in life: dont complain/worry/obsess/dedicate time to things out of your control for that is a waste, and handle everything that is in control the best you can. Maximize what you have in front of you, dont cry because "ohh well there could have been/I want more! WAHHHH"

VZ wants a good headline....fine...I STILL get money for free that I wouldnt have gotten before, and I'll use it to my advantage. It's that simple.
