Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

When will they announce the next round off layoffs?

Any predictions? Inside information? Anyone using a crystal ball that can tell us when the next RIF will be announced?

I was told this is the end of the planned layoffs. This will finalize the restructure they "planned" for but they will always continue to assess needs. This came directly from 2 higher ups. Take what you will from that. I know MF lied and said that last year. Though after he said it once he never repeated it again. Who knows

Once again, they did not promise "no more layoffs the rest of 2018". I remember that question was asked and they responded that they could not say "no more layoffs" for the rest of the year.

One person posted in another thread 2/7 or 2/8, which makes sense with all the computer stuff that will be going on with the ending of live healthy on 2/1

If you are laid off, you get 60 day notice before your last day. However, Humana has been releasing worker early in the past. After those. 60 days of regular salary, your severance starts. So, if you are released after2 weeks, you could potentially start a new job and still get paid by humana for the remaining time of the 60 days you have left and still get your severance,as long as your new job is not with Humana. Only issue is no one knows if and/or when Humana will let people know if they are being released early. I hope they tell us how long we will be working during the “60 days” so we can plan accordingly

Newbies don't cost less. My friend was hired as an an HCM-RN 2 years after I was. Her starting pay was significantly higher than mine. We went to school together and though we didn't work together after college, we held similar positions at hospitals across town from each other. So don't believe the hype that new hires make less

I heard maybe more in April. Wonder if they will cut all HCMRN positions.

I think we will be told Jan 30. After that date we will work our 60 days and end just before the beginning of the second quarter.

No dumb questions! Dont mind the bullies. If you are released early, they would not know and you could get double pay essentially. BUT, no way to know when (or if) you will have early release so difficult to coordinate if your new job needs a start date within the 60 days. If you dont get early release, which is possible and you leave during this time, you will forfeit your severance. Good luck to everyone.

Yes, if released early you are still paid. Several people have said 1st full week but 2/1 is also floating around as a possible date (and would make more sense with the 60 days ending at the end of the 1st quarter). Unfortunately, no one knows for sure until it happens.

So I am asking dumb question too, but if you get the 60 day notice, they release you from your duties, why can’t you work elsewhere & continue to use the notice & the severance? How would Humana even know?

Another dumb question.....if you are impacted and are released before 60 days, are you still paid for up to 60 days plus your severance? Thank you

You will not be able to work another job until after the 60 days to get your severance package.

WOW!! Some people can be very rude for no reason. What do they call that? An internet troll because I know they wouldn’t say that to my face.

I want to know if it’s going to be the 5th, 6th, 7th etc. I already have a job and trying to figure out if I hit the $17,000 lottery aka laid off, could I work both? Not sure I could pull it off if they don’t do it that first week.

Are you waiting to be the last person standing? If you believe there is going to be another RIF, and why wouldn't you! Get the hell out. Don't wait.

I believe this poster was referring to RIF after the one we are currently waiting to complete.

As stated in the towne hall, layoffs will be announced sometime early February, so likely within the next couple of weeks.
