Thread regarding Toronto-Dominion Bank layoffs

Layoffs 2018

In the next couple of days layoffs will be announced. There will be no more customer service jobs anymore. A few of us were layed off effective the end of this month. TD doesn’t care about their employees. We achieved our sales goals but no bonus was paid. I am taking my banking somewhere else.

I retired and left the crap after almost 30. I prided myself on looking after my clients and got much praise from them for it, unfortunately while running into some of my past clients, they are unhappy with their treatment, unending badgering for sales, poor customer service and problem resolution. one client still after 4 months waiting for a problem to be resolved, and it's one that should not take that long.

Welcome to the world of AI.. Report by several banks in early 2018 talked about a reduction of staff of 47% USA, 52% Europe and 72% in China by 2020 !!!! The NIPS {neural information processing systems} conference by Deep Mind , Facebook show just how far they have advanced with machines talking to machines....Don't worry, UBI {Universal Basic Income] will offer enough income to live in the company house, buy at the company store, and give everyone a free cell phone !!!! We may even get a uniform, color coordinated to match our political views, gender, and race ....UTOPIA ;-)

Great people who have given many years to this company were given layoff notices. The CRC positions will be gone as well as others. When you walk in TD and there is no one at the front desk to smile, welcome you and ask "How can I make your day better?" (what TD tells them to say, guess they don't know how to make their employees day better) don't be angry at the people that ARE there. Those people are now wearing several hats without increased pay. Working harder to meet customers needs and provide great service without respect from TD. When the phone is not answered, your phone calls not returned in a timely manner, your concerns not addressed quickly, be kind to the people at your local branch. Direct that anger where it belongs, at corporate office. Call customer care and complain. The people in your branch are doing what they can. It is no longer about providing great advice, appreciating your business, it is about the bottom line. The expectations for employees are unreasonable. Who suffers? Customers and the employees who help them.

When the stock price goes up, remember great people have lost their jobs, hard working people are being stretched too far, sales expectations continue to increase and the service and advice you expect is decreasing. The more the stock price goes up, the more the bottom line increases, the more profit made, no matter who is affected, the more senior executives make. It will not surprise me if the next announcement will be a pay increase for the CEO and senior executives. TD should embrace the employees that are client facing. They are the true value of TD. It is very sad to see this value ignored and diminished all for the bottom line.

They cut the crc position and layed off a bunch of other people. They don't care about employees at all

Several cuts on many levels to make rooms for more executive jobs . Gone are the days of employee focused Ed Clark . I have never been more disappointed in an employer .
