Thread regarding NVIDIA Corp. layoffs

Bully on the playground

There is one manager in my department at Nvdia who actually believes you can get more work done through bullying and intimidation. As if we don’t have enough stress over long hours and meeting deadlines, we also need to worry about having a target on our back whenever he is around.

Sometimes I feel that this manager has no business working with people and I ask myself how in the holy hell did he get the position. Communication and trust are key elements to any work environment and all he propagates is tension and fear. A number of us have voiced our concerns but so far nothing has come of it. I’m starting to doubt that anything ever will.

This description fits a VP who got many many good people to quit through his inability to trust people and through micromanagement down to the level of the individual employee. HR knew and was equally frustrated. He's still there as far I can tell.

Can you share what part of the company or what country this manager is in?

I think I know whom you are talking about. Many people left Nvidia because of this manager and would continue to do so. HR doesn't care. The stress he subjects you to is not worth any kind of money in the world. Better leave before you lose your sanity
