We have been doing the simple store concept for around two years now. I have posted many times on this board trying to let Kmart and Sears people know what is coming but everyone always says I am a troll and to quit lying.
Well everytime I have posted within 6 months to a year what I said has come true.
This whole simple store thing is not something they just do and it is over, it is a process to cut management, cut full-timers, get rid of people who have been with the company for many years making over minimum wage, get rid of paying benefits, and consoladate jobs. Along with cutting hours to the bone.
No more shoe leads, no more backroom leads, less ASM's, less AP/LP, no more jewlery leads etc. The plan is to get regular, minimum wage employees to do these jobs. It is trying to run a store with the least amount of people for the least amount of money. Why pay someone a full time salary with benefits to run the shoe department when I can hire some minimum wage kid to put out boxes and straighten up? Why pay an ASM a salary with benefits when I can pay them hourly, take away their benefits and get a minimum wage person to carry a key to open or close.
Please get a clue. If this has not happened at your store it soon will.
