Years ago I stuck around for the 'step up' in pension benefit at age 55. A big part of that equation was medical coverage for retirees. Well, that got snatched away before I retired. I'm retired now and I wonder why anyone would consider working a day longer than necessary at this evil enterprise.

I honestly don't know. The way some people talk you'd think Honeywell is the only employer out there. If people are determined to work for a company (as opposed to work for themselves) there are TONS of jobs out there.
Don't like getting f'd by Honeywell? Find a job elsewhere. Find a job at a private company that doesn't make horrible business & employee benefits decisions in order to boost the next quarterly earnings. There are more jobs at small-mid private businesses than there are from Fortune 500 companies (fact).
