I wish you all the best...I have been through this in 2015 and I now realize how lucky I was to be laid off then...I was able to find a better job with better pay..
Qualcomm was awesome place to work when I first started. But culture became toxic...Directors don't do anything but sit on their asses all day and eat peanuts ..And those useless directors have absolute say so in your future. If you play golf with them, and pay a visit to their office couple of times a day to kiss their asses, then I assume you would be OK...
I still miss the teams I used to work with...There are some awesome people working there....Some of the smartest people I have worked with...It pains me to remember, some of those great Engineers reports to bunch of dumb shiiite directors can't find their way out of paper bag..I think, what needs to be cut is the management...Not individual contributors....Get rid of 600 directors and 150 VPs and QC would bounce back...Good Luck to you all...
Obviously... The older you are the more expensive you are. Higher salary and less efficiency...
Second layoff is 45-, third is 35+, fourth is 25-, fifth is 15+.. . Plus and minus alternatively

@-1axl, an early retirement offer is legal. I know former Intel employees who have accepted early retirement offers. Layoff based on age is discriminatory and highly illegal.
This post is ridiculous .As if Qualcomm is going to openly show they are discriminating against a certain age group.Go post your garbage somewhere else
