Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

Core Values

As an employee at CHK it is obvious to every person supervisor and below that the leadership level are out for only themselves.

A 4% raise to a person making $45k is drops in the bucket to a 4% raise to someone making $400k. It is a joke when that person busts their butt and gives everything they have for the company to be given a meets expectations and a 0.8 on their target bonus.

Then they turn around and see someone that is completely incompetent but has 4 Culture Posters and has memorized the Core Values get exceeds for doing absolutely nothing. Same goes for promotions. The people that deserve the promotions won’t get them because they ask questions rather than just saying yes to everything and continuing to run the company into the ground.

Agrees with the posters. True competency isn’t rewarded but spewing propaganda is. Take production services. The head honcho (KD), one of the most tenures employees for CHK has done nothing but promote his boys. I worked for him briefly and left on my own. Prior to being moved to his group I had heard how poorly he treated women and those not in his inner circle. Now it seems his favorite (MM) and he will be moving , leaving the reigns to a complete idiot- rhymes with Strawn Stinkly- will be managing. This guy can barely tie his shoes but he has the correct chromosome. Anyone in measurement or production control should jump ship - if you can. Now, don’t forget they left Lambchops (aka I sleep with whomever I can to stay safe) and her bestie “Male Sureman” who can’t cross t’s or dot i’s. Good f’ing luck with that leadership.

Jeez if you're making 45 k you'll probably be safe. That's not very competitive in o&g. I'd start looking for positions else where...

You chose to work for a corporation that has been struggling for a decade now. Since the margin call in 2008, I would have stayed very very clear of working for a solvent company.

How does a leader stay employed if they have complaints about them?
