I'd really like to know who makes the decision and based on which criteria on who is laid off. We have lost some of our best people in the latest round of layoffs!
Hard workers with tons of experience are gone and some of the laziest people I know who truly are a burden on the company are still here. How is this okay? This will cost Academy Sports so much in the long run.
It was disturbing to see how it was done. New leadership let be go without ever meeting them or interviewing them. It’s hard to know you lost colleagues due to a popularity vs talent. We now have “managers” who have never planned or allocated managing a team.. how does that make sense?
Popularity contest. Talent over looked for the people who kiss butt and say what other want to hear instead of what they need to hear. Top leadership is killing Academy and KKR needs to replace JK. That replacement will see what Michelle is and replace her too. What a joke this company has turned into. Bet d---s buys us out within 2 years. They are coming for us and will win with the way executives are handling the company. So sad to see a great company fall and great culture die. I agree with the below statement. Get out now before your talent is recognized and you are walked out because your talent scares the less talented. Oh Academy....what have you done!
Completely agree...top talent walked and low talent and inexperience promoted. I am getting out first chance I get. Leadership is afraid of talent so best get out before they see mine or I am next.
Everything Academy sells can be found elsewhere though.
What's the solution?
Really....school uniforms? There's probably a dozen other places you can purchase uniforms. I don't think that's the takeaway here. Sit down and think about it for a little while. Think really hard and post another comment once you come to your senses.
I hope they fired whoever decided not to sell school uniforms in store last year, if we don't have them this year there is going to be trouble.
