Chapter 7 liquidation tomorrow. Use those TRU gift cards up tonight!
The 2 ToysRUs near me have the KMart feel of gray. Bad lighting, empty metal shelves, dingy all over. The employees, much like in the Kmarts near me used to have a customer unfriendly attitude but no longer do. Too late unfortunately. Not blaming the employees of either company though for the business failures.
3zuf - Sounds like Toys R Us is your 5th. choice for shopping. If enough people think that way it could be the reason for business failure.

Sad to have heard this news yesterday... What kind of world is this when Toys R Us of all places dies. Usually they come through for me when Walmart and Target fail me... and darn Amazon and eBay want twice as much.

When Sears goes Chapter 11, I bet Chapter 7 will follow within a year. TRU filed for Chapter 11 in September and likely will file for Chapter 7 next week.
The company has informed their employees that they don't have the money to pay severance.
