IBM is offering a voluntary program to those 55 and older with 5 years or more of service to quit and get a package. Seems like the uptake is not that great as the packages (varying depending on role, band, etc) are not that attractive.

This packages are used in European countries. Recently I have got 27 months of grass pay (around 4000 Euros per month). In many countries in Europe the law is more protective than in USA.
I got 30 days plus 90 days of health insurance.
What country is this being done in? I fit that easily and I'm in the US and haven't seen that. Or is it something that's forthcoming?
