Hmmm. Let's see... Sanjay would quickly regain the trust of institutional investors, dispose of Broadcom, and get QC back on the rails. Then in two or three years with the stock at $180 he will have completed a buyout of Broadcom and be looking to acquire Intel.

When Sanjay left 2008, PJ promoted ; Len Lauer, Steve Mollenkopf, Jim Lederer

  1. Where are these guys ?

  2. Where is Sanjay?

This is a clear indication of how PJ managed.

He probably may not want to lead the same set of folks and/or work with PJ and clan. But this is a bigger opportunity in case NXP/QC merger goes through happily. No matter if he comes back or not, there is bound to be big restructuring and AVGO will go any length to pocket Qualcomm. Then the question will be if Sanjay wants to work for Octane!

Given the uncertainty, probability is slim but, anything is possible - perhaps yes, perhaps no. On the flip side, investor may like the new if Sanjay joins qualcomm and stock may move north wards and they will announce this quickly. Wait and see.
