There are many directors who are not able to do any professional work, but just playing politics. They always crush hard working engineers and individual contributors because they are afraid of being replaced. That is why QC are getting down. @HR you should lay off those useless people instead of good engineers

Not all engineers are good as well as the other levels. Review the achievement and execution carefully if the cut is a must. I’m sick of a lot of engineers who don’t contribute to the biz at all.

This is very true. From what i have seen, many directors/PEs don't even have the proper training for what they are doing. They could have be making double-sided tape at 3M before becoming 'world-class' chip design master here. Is this some kind of joke?!
HR pls check these guys' degree fields/background before making them directors! Making these people tech managers will only push away the young talents. QC is ruined by these people.
