IOT teams 40% reduction. Server team 50% reduction 50% transfers, QCT 80 names on the list.

Staff and Senior staff will be most impacted. Senior Engg. and Engg. are safe until someone hates you. Directors will notify as they please. 60 day period is not for everyone. If you have work left you will get 60 days to transfer the projects, if your team is completely gone you will get 30 days and then stay at home.

Over next 2 years, everything except 5G goes to India. Upper management stays in SD and work gets done in India. New campus lease is being negotiated for Hyderabad.

If you are getting fired your RSUs will not vest.

Guys, adding to what OP is saying,

This is confirmed if you are not working on 5G, you will lose your job. Only 5G stays in Qualcomm USA and everything else gets moved to Qualcomm India location.

Two things you can do if you get a notice is show your willingness to move to India office or ask for a referral for a position there.

@QEP & OP - assuming you are same person, where did you get the following from:

50% reduction?? - that alone will kill the project right away

50% transfers?? - from where and to where??

Geographical relocation or site site closures?

Do you mean Raleigh will be the only site doing servers?

And folks from other sites will be either let go or asked to relocate to Raleigh??

jcd - My post stands as is, thanks. IOT has already been absorbed into a broader, more focused department. The server project success/status isn't published below the VP/Sr. Director level, so you have no insight. Of course, if you aren't a QCom'er, that's the big mystery, isn't it?

Notifications do start on Monday (this is true), but the numbers indicated aren’t true. The title isn’t the major factor (lol they are) . Projects that aren’t performing (IOT, servers), overstaffing (square corporate structure, too many project managers, and senior staffs) in departments, redundant positions, and performance reviews was key factor (lol, the performance review is biased too). Higher titles have higher performance expectations, but notifications impact all levels.

Who told you RSUs will vest. It RSUs not RSU's.

On average if QCOM let RSU vest for people leaving it will cost them 50k per person.

So basically to send you out QCOM will spend 100k. (RSU + severance package)

total cost 200 million lol.
