Why are they buying? Because the stock is at good value now to make a good profit when it makes a impressive move upward soon. It's called capiltalism and making money. Try it sometime, you may like it. Make your money work for YOU.

Q is not dead; it represents a fairly decent dividend return and didnt SM commit to 'shareholder value' and 'returning value to the stock holder' ?
There is a slim chance NXP deal will go through and the combined company is certainly an interesting if unlikely company.
