new asm transfer?

i’ve looked on the wire and read that it says as a new asm you must stay in your store for 18 months then you can apply for other stores. my question is. is there a way around that i was part of reg selection and got place at a store that’s an hour to and an hour from my home. so i’m not sure if i can get a hardship and i don’t want to piss anyone off trying

I got displaced and am also about an hour away. It's exactly 49 miles and I ask to step down into an hourly position at a closer store and was told I had to endure my 18 months.

If it is more than 50 miles away you can request a hardship transfer. Your store and MM need to approve it and so does the MM and store manager of the store you are wanting to relocate to. FInd a store, post for it. Email both your store and MM and tell them your reasons why.

Don’t worry about pissing anyone off. They already don’t like you. If they liked you they wouldn’t have displaced you. Look through the materials that came out when you were displaced. There is a section on waiving requirements for your first move after you are displaced. I cannot remember if it was for lateral moves or promotion only. But for real, take care of yourself and your needs first. Don’t worry what anyone thinks.

I’m pretty sure that with the cut in co’s They were looking for people that were willing to relocate. If you were lucky enough to get a store anywhere close you probably should work with it. I know some that had to move out of state.
