Totally agree! We're not going anywhere! Why are we still hiring? No plans of us leaving DSD this year
Humm...our two largest retailers going CAO, one completed a $60 million distribution warehouse just a few months ago, Mondelez consolidated, by permanently closing, warehouses throughout the country. A new CEO at the helm who states that mid year (which is June) will end a five year profitability analysis which includes dsd. 25 years with Nabisco, and been lied to more than I can count on my fingers and toes. Fake news? Try false reality!
DSD “has been”, a thing of the past. In the end, it is ultimately up to the retailer to decide since the cost of dsd is built into their contracts, it’s certainly not free. Since most consumers get to choose what they buy, the retailers (wal Mart and Kroger for example) are opting out. They want the margins on our products, they can utilize CAO (one they get comfortable with our velocity), and have the system order and a night clerk stock. Just like they have done with Keebler and Hostess. It’s about profitability, bottom line.
Regardless of what senior management has said, numbers for Mondelez in NA are not good! If they were we would have been purchased by now, nobody wants to buy us!
Mondelez CEO Dirk Van de Put said direct-store delivery has been "powerful" for the company's US biscuits category, but the company is performing a cost-benefit analysis to determine whether to continue its DSD strategy in the future. "It's part of our strategic review," Van de Put said. "We hope to have clarity near the middle of the year."
I think we know, that’s just when he will tell us! Makes sense. Rumors are Kroger is rolling out dsd by July.

Why did Nabisco go pack 6 on so many skus? So we could sell and send less? Nope, customer request. When they go warehouse it will eliminate bs! They can order one case of 6 every night! Oh it’s coming!! Don’t need to be a rocker scientist to figure this one out! We are going to work out the bugs and train stores so when they take over it will be a smooth transition. All the nonsense of us being “too big” is laughable!

Why would nabisco keep a sales force when 50% of what u do is selling and now that being taken away from u by grocery stores. Company aren’t in the business of keeping dead weight and your dead weight when dsd is gone
They may have missed on their predictions but it's coming! Exiting DSD is a moving target. Basically we're the test dummies at this point. Testing CAO. Working out the kinks. Having reps and merchandisers take photo's of displays. Warehouse sku are already made. Why would Nabisco make warehouse sku up and ready to go if we're not going warehouse? Not fake news! Educate yourself!
Yep, if the proof your looking for is “the call”, then you will just have to wait until they are ready. The rest of us prefer to not be blindsided! Had nearly everyone of my GM’s tell me it’s sad, but it is coming!

As far as timing if our exit from dsd....it will probably be 60 days after you are notified. Keebler fave their employees a muck bigger notice, 60 days is required by law. Modelez won’t likely be that kind, never are.
As far a “we are doing so well” as a company. Fake News! Pull any Wall Street article and educate yourself before makin such a misguided statement! In NA our sales have been on a steady decline over the last 5 plus years. We have never met the growth expectations when we split from Kraft. In 2020 they want 50% of our portfolio to be in a “better for you” category. Our first attempt with Vea was a total flop! Already delisted most flavors. Still confident? If so, that makes one of us!
Store's can't take care of Keebler! They don't want Nabisco or anymore DSD. They can't handle what they already have
“Too big to go warehouse?” What an ignorant statement! You cannot believe that, can you? Retailers want the business back. How many aisles are dsd in a store? How many are warehouse? Now think again! Taking back one aisle at a time, and 90% of the aisles are warehouse anyways. Eliminating DSD has been in Kroger 5 year plan! Maybe not ours but we won’t be making that call, retailers are!
