Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Turnover

My team has recently lost three wonderful HCM's because they werejust burned out and could not take it anymore. These were experienced nurses who have been with Humana for at least a couple years. They were ideal employees who cared deeply about their members. A great loss to Humana. Is anyone else noticing an increase in turnover?

We lost another RN last week. Pressure is way too much. Guess it helps Humana as they don't have to pay severance.

Songlad I left after 4 years. I gave my best and loved it until Humana became hell. I now get paid my worth and do not miss Humana. Nurses, you are the backbone of the healthcare industry. Just like teachers in Arizona and around the country, we collectively need to put an end to the abuse. My current job pays me well and gives me OT, if I need more time to document, no questions ask. I am treated like a Profesionnal. It was scary to leave Humana, but now I realize that my fear of change made me settle for the B.S Humana was serving me....no more, never again!

Even though I am not at retirement age nor did I find another job, I left yesterday. The stress and nitpicking was too much. And I consider myself as a very strong person. I have not smiled as much as I did yesterday after signing off as I have over the last 6 months. Here is to the next, and less stressful, chapter of my life. Good luck to everyone.

So sorry to hear about the horrible working conditions now at Humana. I took early retirement that was offered. I worked with Humana for 8 yrs and luckily I turned 65 and now on Medicare. I am still enjoying my 16 wks of severance. I have not had any complaints when I was working with Humana. With all the changes that is being made, I guess I can’t blame you guys for looking for a better job out there. Good luck to all and hope you will find what you are looking for.

Ok..I am not going to give the coaches an easy ticket on this. I am also past management from previous jobs. Everyone says "poor coaches". But I disagree. I have been with Humana for a few years and every coach I am assigned to, I ask "will you represent the HCM's to management" And of course they all say "yes". However I am tired of my coach not representing the stress and impossible work load they are giving us. You are my spokes person to the next level. I cannot do the work you are asking me. I am stressed and not providing the care that our member's deserve. So coaches.....step up and be honest to the COMS. I am tired of your "Rah Rah" attitude and if HCM's dare question the work load... we are labeled as complainers . I put this on the "coaches". You are responsible for this. If you want to be managers...then manage.

Too much stress and micro management at this point to do a job that is impossible with all the additions to our rosters. I have worked there 3 1/2 years, loved my job and my members but can't continue with the impending doom! I feel bad for the coaches at this point. They are directed to have us do a job that they would find impossible. Oh yea a grade card weekly and audited 3x/month.

Last poster I could not have said it better. Living hell!! I can’t believe how much worse it has gotten in the last few weeks. It was bad before but this is insane feel like they are trying to get us to quit by making it so intense and stressful every second. Literally feel sick to my stomach over this job. My coach is great but she is being squeezed to push us to our breaking point and know she is hanging by a thread as well. Out of here as soon as I find something

Morale is at an all time low on our team. Do this CBT, attend all these meetings, type up and submit success stories, don't sign on early, try to not get OT but make sure you are perfect on all these calls and care plan documentation. As predicted, life at Humana has become a living hell!

You poor people. I left this company 6 months ago, early retirement. I can't imagine the crap you have to deal with now. Run, don' t walk, opportunities exist. The numbers, metrics were always a mystery. Oh well. That' s H. Best to all of you. Oh yes, I' m eligible for Medicare. Oh no, I will not pick H advantage. 6 yrs of working w H have taught me better.

HCMSS here. Also several SSs have left or are leaving and not being replaced. On week 4 of optional OT and most people aren’t interested because the daily changes, piles of paperwork and stress are not worth the extra money. Barely in compliance with our queues and can’t keep up even with warm transfers on hold!!!

I HCM RN 4+ years at Humana. I have been mentor, team lead and worked on specials projects. I have worked so hard for my members and this company. But have hit that wall. Working on another job and plan to leave in a couple months. I am so far behind in my roster and working frantically to catch up ...but then get criticized for wording in my CP. The pickiness is just unbelievable. Was almost down to just a couple dozen reds the other day...but then got a bunch of new members. Probably from someone's roster who left.

HCM-RN here, it has become a joke. We have lost three from our team also. I am out as soon as I find something, just really don’t want to work third shift on a floor somewhere.

They drop like flies in SNP, no replacements in site. They've implemented voluntary OT to those who can help pick up the slack.

The sad thing is the Directors and COMS and coach's think they are doing a good job at promoting engagement. Some truth and fewer 'exciting' new ideas would be helpful. I am convinced someone is dreaming up these new and exciting changes just to appear busy. Try honesty and a few acknowledgements which are not just a primer for more BS.

Yes! Nurses are leaving and looking to leave. I am trying to leave and as soon as I can find something good. The micro managing has gotten too much. The stress, racing through member calls to get our metrics without working OT IS MAKING ME SICK. morale is terrible. Getting worse week to week.
