Can they save 1B?

Can they save 1B by laying off 1500 or more layoffs coming in next few months?

Get rid of SM and GD $100M right there.

These distractions *cough layoffs are so counter productive. Company wastes time not wanting to settle with Apple. Missed a chance with Broadcom and continue to do anything but inovate.

1500 in CA, but higher worldwide. Even that does not add up to $1B. 2000 employees at $300K per person is $600M annually.

2nd round in Nov, then more early next year. NXP and ZTE will have an effect too.

Easily, and more. With ZTE gone, it is 30M*20 (assuming 20$ is the chip cost to Q) = $600M of savings already. Well, it also means our revenue will dip..but SM won't be responsible for that...he only promised savings..LOL

More coming in few months

Too large of a layoff in one shot would lead to business disruptions

No.

1500 US employees does not save $1B.

I suspect 1500 is right around the max that could be swallowed at one time right now. Much more would lead to significantly daily business disruption.
