Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

PK said

Our beloved, overpaid leader said during the earnings conference call...

I would like to take the opportunity to thank the more than 100,000 women and men that make up the Schlumberger workforce. You are the best team in the industry and I want to thank you for your unwavering commitment to your jobs, to our customers and to the company over the past few years, where we together have navigated through very tough market conditions.

Now, things are again looking brighter for the industry and for Schlumberger and I look forward to facing the new and more energizing challenges of the growth market together with all of you.

Why is PK moving from the "Transformation" (Andrew Gould used to give him his seat) to the GE "DIGITAL transformation"? PK can not have a moto of their own?

Last internal message that trickled down was one of the groups is not firing people fast enough. People Connect is a savior now because it is so F’d up they have to resort to old school to fire people fast enough. 🤣

What happened to the rig of the future?

We are in the future now.

So is it the the rig of the present or even past?

But as it doesn't require people nobody will ever find out.

AI will fix it all. Brilliant idea. It will even automatically submit quest incidents. AI will be the model slb manager. Won't be able to do any physical work, without college or high school degree, and tell anything on you. But wait, you won't be there?!

One obvious result of engaged to excel was laying off engaged people, looks like some managers are on competitors payroll

So focused on his own vision, i suspect he wears blinkers and ear muffs to stop seeing and hearing the reality of his own mess he created with his transformation with engagement is off track. It was supposed to remove barriers and admin and turbo operations, today it is the opposite it is implemented barriers, increased admin and operations move at the pace of a snail i heard. He bit of more than he can chew.

I guess he has surrounded himself with either an ignorant board or they are all scared to be fired for telling the truth. Anyone know how to tell the board my shares are dropping in price all the time? How are the board paid, shares or cash?

By the time he finished thanking the 100,000 employees, the headcount may be down already!

is this the same PK who at the last Managers call told his people that “You are a bunch of losers” because SLB is doing so badly compared to our competitors!

Oil price is been climbing since past 6month and majority of operators and field services stock price but slb!

This is the time you have to be really worried about is there is Any directives in slb.

In reality all investors want to see is ROI and their stock gain.

Every time executives say this is recovery time, we get more layoffs.

I wonder the guy would say the same thing in the face of over 50k laid-off employees and their families.

Not planning to quit then? Maybe he'll change his tune when the cracks caused by the NWW start to show. Too many of the good people he's talking about have been shown the door, and their younger cheaper replacements are crumbling under the pressure of trying to do jobs they lack the experience and/or competence for. Many of them are quitting already, hopefully PK will follow soon and the recovery can begin for slb. If he stays and keeps pushing this thing we're f---ed.
