@-icyg

Also :

AAPL not paying license fees and they wont

Xiaomi not paying license fees.........

2015 : SMs compensation $60m, seems like small change when you look at the fines he's managed to accumulate.

2015 1.4B$ saving, 1.1B$ for layoff. 0.3B$ share compensation reduction (wow!). They fired 5000 people.

2016 Korea fined 800M$

2017 Taiwan fined 700M$

2018 lost ZTE - 500M$ revenue loss (because of trade war)

2018 EU fined Q - 1B$ loss

Now:

  • Possible to lose customers soon due to the trade tension.

  • if NXP takeover fails, another 2B$ to be paid to NXP.

Then total capital loss since 2015: 6B$. That's 30% of annual revenue of Q.

They promised beginning of 2018 to save 1B$ annually. You can fill the gap in 6 years (6B$ / 1B$ annual saving = 6 years) Based on the data from 2015,

  • either every year Q must fire about 5000 people. This year 1.5k gone. This is not possible because after 6 years won't have employees any more :-)

  • sell or close parts of the company, which revenue is around 1-2B$. If close, fire all the people there.

6 years is a long time.

The best excuse to get this aggressive saving is to get NXPI at all costs. An M&A is a good timing to fire people, divest business.

I think tough days are coming

If that happens it is exactly what they deserve vfor screwing over their employees in the United States.

They will tell you only so much.

Putting the puzzle together gives an idea what you can expect.
