Mostly true. There is no true leadership at the top and what's worse is, there are a bunch of middle management in place who aren't leaders but played the game. They relocated and got the insurance education and someone to sponsor them, etc. But the day of someone being hired mostly based on skill and experience is gone.

Actually I liked the OP....he/she is spot on....especially with this line: "Only give them what you want them to have".....WE do own them and that is what they are afraid of. ALL of us SF employees need to realize this, WE do own them, and we need to Only give them what YOU want...don't do more than you absolutely need to, do less if you can get away with it. Meet your metrics but no more than that.
Only do the required minimum.....no more above and beyond. We don't have to give any more than what we want them to have. We OWE them NOTHING MORE.....

OP: Oh, you were so close. Your big mistake was in thinking that the Farm can make the leap to a digital world. This is the company that took 13 years to roll out our latest claims platform!!! No offense IT people, just saying... No, the Farm will try to make the leap and will fall just like the coyote in the old Roadrunner cartoons. The landing will be a loud splat on the nightly news and after a few news cycles, SF will be relegated to the list of other failed companies that outlasted their usefulness. One more thing you got wrong, SF is not a corporation, it is a mutual company which is owned by it's policyholders, which means that sometime in the not too distant future a small number of people will own a large amount of money!!!
